Opening night!
The Cultivate Plant Adoption Agency gave away 18 plants during it's debut. Not bad!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and adopted a seedling. Please send in photos of your plant as it grows. We will post them on the blog.
Check back for future adoption days. We would love to give away more seedlings.

In Bloom
After a summer's hiatus, the garden has had time to grow and...the sunflowers are blooming! The garden has been tended to, graciously, by the attendant over the summer. It resides (mostly) on the area of land known as Walnut Farms but will hopefully make an appearance sometime soon--perhaps at the original location of the garden.

mobile garden
Well, it turns out that the spot we picked for the garden didn't sit well with the University. In keeping with the ongoing title for the collaboration of this part of the project--cultivate/migrate--we have transplanted the garden into three wagons. This way, we can take the garden anywhere we want to--it migrates. It likely will go on tour this summer around Iowa City and surrounding areas. I hope to continue the project into the following year.
There is a possibility that those whose plants never came up or otherwise didn't make it will be reincarnated as vegetables for the vegetable garden wagon. Look for your number tag there!

The Garden
The garden has been planted! It officially opened yesterday, May 5. There are three beds holding all of the flowers. All of the flowers are marked with their tags containing their plant numbers. If you make it up to the garden, be sure to locate your plant. Hopefully by the end of summer we'll have a flower garden in full bloom.
